DisCouRSE is pleased to share highlights from the Research Coding Community Fair, which was held at the University of Exeter on Tuesday 19th May 2026.

The event brought together researchers, technical teams, and digital research communities to showcase coding support, training, tools, and collaboration opportunities. Supported by Bioinform@exe via ELIXIR-UK and the DisCouRSE Flexible Fund Round 1 project, Building Connected Technical Networks. The event highlighted the value of connecting researchers and sharing expertise.

The session opened with Liam Berrisford, who shared the vision for the Research Coding Community, followed by talks on Communities in Digital Research from Hugh Gifford (Bioinform@exe) and Ruxandra Neatu (LSI Genomics Club).The afternoon concluded with AI, Genomics, and Society, featuring research applications from Philippe Young, Stuart Cannon, Krishnendu Bera, and Darren Schreiber.
