Flexible Fund Round 2 now open!

Round 2 of the DisCouRSE flexible funding scheme is now open for applications! For full details and to apply visit https://discourse-network.github.io/funding/round-2.

The closing date for submissions is 5^th June 2026 at 4pm BST, decisions will be shared in early July, and projects are expected to begin in the autumn.

This call has three strands: two main categories, with a third strand open to existing training providers only.

1. Pilot Projects aligned to DisCouRSE aims as in round 1 but with a maximum budget of £15k. Those who received funding in round 1 (as leads or co-leads) will not be eligible to submit proposals under this category. We are particularly seeking applications from organisations that were not represented in round 1 projects.
2. Growth Projects contributing to existing community initiatives aligned to DisCouRSE aims, and with a £15k budget limit. Starting something new is not allowed in this category, but you could build on something funded through round 1. Showing how your idea builds on existing engagement and complements what is already happening will be particularly important.
3. Cohort Training: As a training provider, run a pilot leadership training programme for a cohort of aspiring digital research technical professional (dRTP) leaders aligned to DisCouRSE Work Package 3.

The application form and criteria for the first two categories are similar to round 1, with slight adjustments based on feedback received and lessons learned. Strand 3 has its own form and evaluation process.
